Cost-Effectiveness of H. pylori Screen-and-Treat Strategy Presented in Slovenia: A Step Forward in Gastric Cancer Prevention

Duco Mülder presented results on the cost-effectiveness of H. pylori screen-and-treat at the International Congress of Slovenian Society for Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The results demonstrate that H. pylori screen-and-treat using primary serology testing followed by a confirmatory UBT is a cost-effective strategy to prevent gastric cancer in Slovenia.
Following up on the TOGAS pilot studies in Slovenia lead by Bojan Tepeš, this study marks the next step towards implementation in Slovenia. Cost-effectiveness analyses for other countries are expected soon!
