Research shows that eradicating Helicobacter pylori can cut stomach cancer mortality by 40%, and detecting precancerous changes early saves lives. But how do we bring this knowledge into everyday medical practice across Europe?

That’s where TOGAS comes in. Running until 2026, TOGAS is conducting three pilot studies across multiple European countries to evaluate the best approaches for prevention, screening, and early detection of gastric cancer, while also addressing ethics, accessibility, and cost-effectiveness.

Led by the Institute of Clinical and Preventive Medicine, University of Latvia, TOGAS is paving the way for evidence-based gastric cancer prevention in Europe. This World Cancer Day, let’s raise awareness and work towards solutions that save lives!
